Identity Software builds custom software for Australian businesses. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you use the enquiry form. We collect your name, email address and message, plus your phone number and business name if you choose to give them. We also record the time of the submission and the IP address it came from, which is used to limit how often the form can be sent from one place.
When you book a call. Bookings are handled by Calendly, which collects whatever you enter into its booking form. Calendly’s own privacy policy applies to that information.
When you simply browse. Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, the pages requested and the browser used. We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this site.
Why we collect it, and what we do with it
We use what you send us to answer your enquiry and to discuss work you are considering. We do not sell personal information, and we do not add enquirers to a marketing list without asking.
Enquiries are stored in this website’s database so that a failed email does not lose your message, and a copy is emailed to us. Our email service keeps a log of messages sent from the site for 30 days.
Services we rely on
Some parts of this site are provided by other companies, and using those parts shares information with them. Several are based overseas, mainly in the United States, so your information may be handled outside Australia.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks that form submissions are from people rather than bots. It collects device and usage information, and is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
- Google Maps and Google Business provide the reviews shown on our home page and the link to our location.
- YouTube hosts our introduction video. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play, and we use its no-cookie player.
- Calendly provides the booking calendar on our contact page.
- Our web host stores the site and its database, and keeps server logs.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own. WordPress may set a cookie if you leave a comment or log in. The embedded services above may set their own cookies once you interact with them, such as pressing play on the video or opening the booking calendar.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as they are useful to the working relationship, and we remove them when they no longer are. Email logs are kept for 30 days. Ask us to delete your enquiry at any time and we will.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email eru@identitysoftware.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally well inside 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. If you are still unsatisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to the database and admin is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the handling of your information seriously and build accordingly.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
